You’ve probably seen commercials on T.V. or in magazines asking why you would spend tons of money on salon brands when you can use their products for less. Well, my question is, why would you use their products when you can get healthy natural hair all on your own? If you follow some quick and easy tips, you can save money and have beautiful hair.

The first step in getting healthy hair is getting a healthy body. Your hair needs nutrients just like the rest of you, so be sure to eat a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables and get plenty of water. Vitamins E, B, and C are all important for keeping your hair looking great.

Get your hair trimmed. If you have longer hair, you may not go to the salon as often as you should. If you don’t need special cuts and it still looks good, that doesn’t mean your hair is healthy. You need to get your hair trimmed, or if you’re brave trim it at home, once every three months. This will help prevent split ends and other damage and will keep it looking great.

To keep your hair growing and healthy, massage your scalp regularly. Or even better, get someone to do it for you. This not only stimulates hair growth, it also feels great, particularly after a long stressful day.

Use your hair accessories wisely. Sure, you should brush your hair to help keep it from becoming a tangled mess, but you need to learn to do it gently rather than ripping right through knots and tangles. And try not to sleep with hair accessories in. If you must, use softer looser ones that will cause less damage. This will keep your hair from breaking and becoming a flyaway mess.

Use hair products that are actually natural. A lot of hair care product use natural ingredients, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have other ingredients that aren’t natural. Instead of just looking at the front of the label, turn the bottle around and look at the ingredient list. If there are names you can’t read, they’re likely not natural. You can also look for products with certifications; just be sure you know what a product needs to get a specific certification.

Occasionally, give your hair an extra boost by using a hair mask or oil treatment. This will help treat damage that regular hair care couldn’t prevent, and will strengthen hair to prevent future wear and tear.

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Many people give their hair extra care when the damage is already done, then go back to the same old routine once hair is brought back to a healthy radiance. Whatever your hair care routine, remember to keep it up. Give your hair special treatment before it’s likely to be damaged, like in the fall before the harsh winter wind and dry air, or in the spring before you spend all summer at the pool.

If you add a bit of extra time to your hair care routine, you’ll start having naturally gorgeous hair in no time.

Making your own shaving cream will help you avoid many harmful toxins found in traditional shaving products and is also good for the environment. It’s actually not very difficult at all and there are a few variations you could easily make.
Lets get started:
Ingredients:
½ teaspoon of sunflower or rapeseed oil
¼ cup unscented natural glycerine soap
Double boiler (one larger pot over a small one works well too)
2 drops essential oil of your choice (lavender or peppermint work well)
Instructions:
#1 – Melt the pieces of glycerine soap in a double boiler
#2 – Slowly stir in the oil
#3 – Add the essential oil of your choice and mix well until the mixture is completely melted and thick.
#4 – Use right away as the formula sets very quickly
This recipe works well for both men and women. Here is another recipe which is particularly good for shaving the legs, not so great for the face as it may be too thick and creamy.
Simple natural shaving cream recipe two:
And for days when you’re in a hurry or want a super smooth shaving cream for your legs simply use organic coconut oil mixed with a little rapeseed oil. This is quite a thick mixture but will leave your legs extra smooth.

Most of us spend a lot of time making sure that our face and hair look great. Why? Because it’s usually the first thing a person sees and notices about us. However, a good impression of your appearance can be turned upside down quickly after they shake your hand and notice poorly cared-for nails. That’s why it’s important not to stop caring about your appearance when you’re done with the obvious. Here are some tips to keep your nails healthy and looking as good as the rest of your body.

The first step in getting your nails healthy is getting yourself healthy. If your body is lacking nutrients, it’s going to show all over, even your nails. Be sure to eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. You may even want to take a daily multivitamin or other supplements.

Buff your nails regularly. This keeps them from looking rough, but it also helps get oxygen to the nail bed and gets the blood flow going. Both of these are essential for healthy, beautiful nails.

When applying nail polish, or a nail treatment product, applying a quick thick coat is going to be a bad choice in the long run. To get a good look, apply a thin coat and allow it to dry fully, then apply more coats.

Beautiful looking nails are not just about the nails themselves, it’s about the cuticles as well. Soak your cuticles to soften them before you ever try pushing them back so you don’t damage the surrounding tissue. After you have pushed the cuticles back and trimmed them if necessary, be sure to keep them soft and hydrated by applying oil regularly.

A while back, I was a bridesmaid at my best friend’s wedding and I made one of the worst nail decisions imaginable: fake nails. Sure, if you get them done professionally by someone who is really good at it, then you might be able to get them to look nice and natural. However, if you get fake nails, and want your nails to stay looking good, be prepared to keep them. Fake nails destroy the real nail underneath, so if you remove them, you basically have to wait for the part you put the fake nail on to grow out before it looks good again. My suggestion is, work with what you have.

When buying nail care products, you don’t need to spend a lot of money. A basic nail care kit will work for basic materials; however, you don’t want to cut corners when it comes to what you put on your nails. Try using natural, high quality products. These will help nourish your nails instead of leaving them dry and cracked like alcohol-containing products can.

When it comes to your nails, a little bit of work can go a long way.
